Lead Accountant

About the role

The Lead Accountant is responsible for profit and loss, working capital and balance‑sheet oversight for the assigned business. The role includes governance, financial control, internal and external reporting, forecasting and cash collection, while leading a finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Own all financial matters of the contract, ensuring accurate monthly reporting and performance optimisation.
• Report financial performance to senior management, including variance analysis, accounts receivable, DSO and unbilled analysis.
• Drive annual budgeting, forecasts and rolling forecasts, validating inputs from business development and operations.
• Manage monthly customer billing in line with commercial terms and improve working capital by reducing DSO and TTB.
• Lead the finance team – recruitment, development, performance management and objective setting.
• Support client audits, dispute management and engage with commercial teams on bids, margin analysis and contract financial terms.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (or working towards qualification) with at least 8 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Commercial experience with strong understanding of cost models and proven people‑management track record.
• Good IT / systems knowledge and experience in business partnering.
• Strong relationship‑building skills, deadline‑driven and able to work collaboratively across functions.
• Preference given to Brunei nationals or permanent residents.
