Associate – Risk Management and Compliance

About the role

The Associate will support the line manager in executing risk management, compliance and regulatory governance strategies for the Brunei branch, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and Group policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in defining and implementing effective risk management and compliance strategies.
• Review group policies and regulatory consultation papers, adapting them for the Brunei branch.
• Prepare regular and ad‑hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate regulatory reporting on tax evasion (CRS, FATCA) and AML/CFT (CTR, STR).
• Support the Data Protection Officer and act as the Business Contact Information point for data protection matters.
• Coordinate Business Continuity Planning and training programs across departments.
• Handle ad‑hoc assignments such as marketing and social media reviews.

Required profile

• Minimum degree qualification and familiarity with the industry’s regulatory environment.
• Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• High integrity, accountability and a proactive, detail‑oriented work ethic.
• Team player willing to learn and adapt to change.
