Project Geologist

About the role

The Project Geologist will be based on‑site in Brunei Darussalam, working full‑time to plan and execute geological field investigations for infrastructure and construction projects. The role involves supervising field crews, collecting and validating geological and geotechnical data, and collaborating with engineers, project managers and clients to deliver reliable subsurface assessments.

Key responsibilities

• Design and conduct site investigations, including geological mapping and borehole drilling.
• Supervise and coordinate field teams to ensure safe and efficient execution of work.
• Collect, log, and validate geological and geotechnical data from field and laboratory sources.
• Prepare technical reports, administrative documents and project recommendations.
• Ensure all activities comply with safety standards and local regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to interpret subsurface conditions and support engineering decisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in geological site investigations and field crew supervision.
• Ability to produce accurate geological maps and logs.
• Familiarity with geophysical techniques used in geotechnical investigations (advantageous).
• Hands‑on experience with drilling operations, including planning and data collection.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Earth Sciences or a related discipline (advantageous).
• Strong report writing and communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Commitment to field safety and capability to work in remote outdoor environments.
• Knowledge of Brunei or Sarawak regional geology and prior project management exposure are beneficial.
