Technical Superintendent

About the role

The Technical Superintendent will be based on‑site in Muara, Brunei, overseeing the technical condition, maintenance and safe operation of DPS’s fleet. This full‑time position involves planning preventive and corrective maintenance, coordinating dry‑dockings, and ensuring compliance with maritime regulations, classification societies and HSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance programmes for all vessels.
• Plan and manage dry‑dockings, repairs and technical projects, preparing budgets and cost estimates.
• Monitor vessel performance, analyse technical data and resolve issues in collaboration with crews, operations teams and external contractors.
• Maintain technical documentation, records and asset management systems to meet regulatory and audit requirements.
• Support internal and external audits, inspections and continuous improvement of technical procedures and safety practices.

Required profile

• Strong background in marine engineering or naval architecture with hands‑on experience in vessel maintenance and repair planning.
• Good knowledge of maritime regulations, classification society requirements and HSE standards.
• Proven ability to produce technical reports, manage documentation and use maintenance or asset management software.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills to coordinate with crews, contractors and management.
• Relevant professional certifications or licences (e.g., marine engineer officer) are highly beneficial.
