Design Manager – Luxury Hotel & Resort Renovation

About the role

The Design Manager will lead the design delivery for a large‑scale luxury resort renovation in Brunei, covering 19 buildings and roughly 200,000 m². Reporting to senior stakeholders, the role ensures that all design disciplines meet the client’s vision, budget, schedule and brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary design teams across architecture, structural, MEP, landscape, interior and specialist disciplines.
• Coordinate design packages, resolve conflicts, and ensure constructability throughout all project phases.
• Monitor design progress, manage risks, scope changes and value‑engineering initiatives.
• Facilitate technical workshops, design reviews and present strategies to senior stakeholders.
• Establish and enforce design quality standards, regulatory compliance and hospitality industry requirements.
• Support procurement, tender documentation and provide design oversight during construction, reviewing RFIs, shop drawings and design changes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• 15+ years of design and project delivery experience, preferably in luxury hotel, resort or mixed‑use projects.
• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary international consultant teams.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluent English communication.
