Petrophysicist – Well Studies & Technical Support

About the role

The Petrophysicist will support the delivery of safe, efficient and reliable oil‑field products and services. Acting as a technical bridge between operations, sales and engineering, the role focuses on well‑studies, data analysis and continuous improvement of subsurface solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide real‑time technical support to operations and assist in incident response and recovery.
• Deliver in‑depth well studies for well reinstatement campaigns, including analysis of historical and log data.
• Perform sand‑quality analysis, well correlation QC and logging data evaluation to optimise well screening and design.
• Summarise reservoir properties through data editing, synthetic log generation and formation evaluation (porosity, permeability, saturation).
• Collaborate with design/technical engineers, sales teams and client subsurface groups to optimise technical designs and tender evaluations.
• Identify cost‑effective techniques, explore value‑added services and promote new technologies.
• Maintain visibility in professional societies, contribute technical publications and monitor competitor offerings.

Required profile

• Proven experience in petrophysics and well‑log interpretation.
• Ability to analyse well historical data and perform reservoir property estimation.
• Strong background in data editing, synthetic log creation and formation evaluation.
• Experience supporting operations in real‑time and participating in incident investigations.
• Active involvement in technical societies and continuous learning of emerging technologies.
