MEP Design Manager – Luxury Resort Renovation

About the role

The MEP Design Manager will lead the planning, coordination, review and delivery of all mechanical, electrical and plumbing design packages for a major luxury resort renovation comprising 19 buildings and roughly 200,000 m² of facilities. The role ensures that all MEP systems meet the highest standards of performance, sustainability, operational efficiency and guest comfort.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design activities for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, ELV, ICT and building systems.
• Manage MEP consultants and specialist designers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review design submissions for technical compliance, constructability, maintainability and operational efficiency.
• Develop and implement MEP design strategies aligned with project objectives and ensure integration with architecture, interiors and structural systems.
• Coordinate critical systems such as HVAC, power distribution, emergency power, fire and life safety, BMS, ICT, security and ELV.
• Conduct technical reviews of drawings, specifications, calculations and reports to ensure compliance with local regulations, international standards and hotel operator requirements.
• Support construction teams during installation, testing, commissioning and handover, and evaluate design change requests.
• Interface with client representatives, hotel operators, consultants and contractors, leading coordination meetings and technical workshops.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services Engineering or related discipline.
• 15+ years of MEP design and project delivery experience, preferably in luxury hotels, resorts or large‑scale mixed‑use projects.
• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary MEP teams and international consultants.
• Previous refurbishment, renovation or brownfield project experience is highly preferred.
• Strong leadership, people management and stakeholder communication skills.
